There is a blue rubber-like cover that goes over the male end of the charging cable (trickle charger) that plugs into the Leaf. The connecting strip of rubber for that cover broke within 1 month of getting my Leaf. So for years I have carefully managed to not lose it but now it has disappeared. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement or have any clever ideas to use something else? Right now I am using a rubber glove and a rubber band but I am thinking there must be a better solution. I really need the cover because around here the mud daubers will infest it immediately.

Seems a bit spendy to me, but I guess it still only $10.99 shipped....

Another one made out of hard plastic and not rubber, not sure how you'd tether it to your J1772 end though....a bit less at $9.99 shipped.

The public ones sit in the elements without a cover, you should be fine storing it in your trunk without one, especially if you use the bag..

Thanks jjeff! Exactly what I was looking for! My Googlefu had totally failed me. I'm OK with not tethering it since I've been living with that for years.

Davewill - I had the Ingineer conversion done so the Nissan cable/connector is my main way to charge and is mounted permanently in the open in my garage. Which also happens to be where the 10,000 mud daubers love to find little crevices to build their nest. It's been almost 4 years and the conversion has performed flawlessly.

In that case, I ordered this a while back and it works good.

I paid ~$10 for it, but Amazon seems to no longer list it for sale.
They do list this one, but I don't care for it as much as it seems to lack the inner parts where your J1772 O-ring would wrap around, making a seal to keep the bugs out.

This one looks good but IMO is overpriced!

I'm guessing for the best seal the rubber cover I linked earlier may be best for the OP, most like the OEM cover.

The plumbing section of your local hardware store will have a rubber end cap, with clamp. I think the 1.5" one fits the Jplug.
