If you want to keep your original windshield wipers and just replace the rubber inserts, here are the part numbers you need to order from Nissan. The passenger side refill is Nissan Part 28895-1AA1A, and the drivers side is 28895-1AA0A. These are the same as the ones on the Maxima and the Murano. These will fit all Leafs 2011 to 2015. As stated, these are just the refills for the original plastic wiper frames your Leaf came from the factory with.

I found that for some reason the parts list for the Leaf shows the wiper refills as not available, even though the Leaf uses exactly the same refills as several other Nissan models. I purchased mine online from NissanPartsDeal, http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ they cost about $7.00 each.

I hope this is helpful.

These are junk. Good for 18 months or less (I'm already unhappy with my most recent set, and it's only been 6 months).

We already have a pretty good thread going on wipers:

Bosch Icons for me from here on in.

What? Here in Europe people change wipers every year :D
Compared to BMW wipers Nissan does have some decent ones.
Even BMW aftermarkets like Bosch or Valeo are still on par with Nissan.
Nissan should use frameless wipers from Mitsuba. At least EU Leafs.

Hmmm... that's not good, if they don't last in SoCal where you rarely gets any rain. I guess I'll find out how long mine last.

That's where I originally found the parts numbers.

Have you actually bought & installed them on your LEAF and found that they work? My problem with full blades (as opposed to just rubber refills) is that they don't articulate. The arm on my 2011's blades has hinges and articulates. I see that the Bosch Icons are curved but are one piece and not articulated. I had bought other wiper blades that don't work because they don't articulate and therefore don't conform to the curve of the windshield.

I can confirm that this is accurate and correct. I just got mine.

Also, I added the info to the wiki.

You're misreading the SoCal effect. The typically high Ozone concentrations in SoCal are murder on rubber. I've lived in places where a 20-year-old rubber band has like-new elasticity. In So-Cal you don't wrap something in a rubber band and expect it to be permanent. The rubber band will crumble like stale bread in a couple of years. Although it's probably better than it once was.

Paul,

Just wanted to confirm that you advice was very helpful. I've been dissatisfied with Nissan's official wiper blade replacement parts for our 2015 Nissan Leaf S. The original pair needed replacement after a little more than a year and the replacements were lousy. These were the official Nissan Leaf replacement wiper assemblies and they didn't work well from the get go. They chattered and only in the severest rain did they stop chattering.

So I decided to replace them with the refills you suggested. Fortunately I kept the original blade. Autobarn at first wouldn't fill the order because they were for another car. I called them and they released them for shipment. They are the right size, work the way they should, and for the first time in years I can turn on the wipers without cringing.

Thanks.

Paul Gipe

I got some Trico wipers recently that work very well. They have the continuous spring in the wiper; not the segmented arms, so they form an arc when you lift them off the windshield. They have the offset attachment, similar to the stock units.

Has anyone searched Ebay for new old stock?

Just get the Honda branded versions from Amazon:
