Agreed. This thread's are a waste of time unless there is definitive info (e.g. pic of dash AFTER car is done booting) or verification from someone who knows what they’re doing.mwalsh said:davewill said:I don't buy it. They have to be ignorantly reporting the battery level bars. There's no way that there are that many 5-7 bar losers.
Completely agree. This thread is a waste of time. If the OP is so interested in these vehicles, then he needs to do his own leg work to verify.
Since my used car shopping is done, my Autocheck and Carfax subscriptions are done and I have no ability to run VIN checks. OP should try to determine whether the car has been in a hot climate (e.g. Phoenix, Death Valley, Texas, etc. or even fairly hot like much of So Cal) via VIN those services.
OPs should point spotters to http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/File:Scott_3_bars_s.jpg as an example of 3 bar loser and http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Battery_Capacity_Loss for more info. I recently had another street encounter w/someone who'd been leasing their Leaf for 14 months so far and didn't know about the capacity bars.
