(at tilt position). I turn the car off and it closes all the way, then starts up again opening and closing. I tried the
"car reboot" procedure by disconnecting the 12 v battery, but when I hook it up again it keeps going.
Same identical thing here. Cleaned the inside. Now the display just keeps opening and closing when the car is Off. Works fine when the car in On. I never opened the display just wiped down the screen. I'm thinking some issue with moisture on the display.

Disconnecting the 12v didn't work. Since disconnecting didn't work twice, my guess is that the person who thought disconnecting the 12v worked just happened to waited long enough so the cycling resolved itself and that disconnecting the battery didn't actually do anything.

I ran it through the car wash earlier today, that's another possibility, but the cycling started a few minutes after wiping down the interior. It's not harming anything but I was worried about the 12v battery running down, so I just put tape across the Open/Close button. That stopped it.

UPDATE: After reading this thread I decided that the problem would probably resolve itself so I took off the tap. Viola, no more cycling. My conclusion is that the screen doesn't like moisture, which kicks on the Open/Close cycling, and if you just let it cycle on and off for an hour or so everything goes back to normal.

Problem reappeared this morning. The display was in the Open position. Drove the car around the block. When it was turned off the display started cycling again. Holding the Close button stops it and the tape method worked again but that's a temporary fix. No time to take it in today. Maybe tomorrow.

Didn't have time to deal with this today, I have an appointment for tomorrow morning. The unit started cycling again and was quite hot to the touch, so I pulled the fuse. Knocks out the whole display but not a major problem. For reference, the fuse in under the hood. It's in the first row fourth from the right.

Took it in yesterday and, after calling Nissan, the word is that the entire console will have to be replaced. They don't have the part so we'll have to wait on that. They said the issue was very easy to reproduce. They just put the fuse back in and Out/Back, Out/Back.

Service was astoundingly better. The first time it literally stank -- the car smelled of BO when I got it back. The second time it was marginal. This time it was excellent, other than the fact that they weren't ready when I showed up at the appointed hour (early) and I got to hear somebody go on and on about his fantasy baseball game. It's like they took out the D Team and replaced it with the A Team.

The person I dealt with seemed to be a Leaf specialist. He told me I had just missed a tricked out lowrider Leaf with racing stripes. That would have been fun to see.

Well that's too bad. I just cleaned the inside of the car and my console started doing the same thing when the car is turned off. I am letting it cycle on and off for now, hoping it'll stop at some point.

If not, I plan to remove Fuse #34 (as highlighted in this picture: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=3964#p134464) and then call the dealer.

I went to check on it and saw through the window that the console had stopped opening and closing. As soon as I unlocked the door, it stopped doing the open/close thing again.

I'll check one more time tonight and then take fuse #34 out. And call the dealer in the morning :(

my car is real dusty and was thinking about spending an afternoon with the armor all to get it sparkling but now i am nervous since this seems to be the main catalyst for this issue

Well, I left fuse #34 out all night and plugged it back in this morning and the console has been behaving so far. So I guess when the moisture has evaporated, it goes back to normal.

DaveinOlyWA, don't know what to tell you. Other than to be very careful when cleaning in and around the console :)

A damp (water soak then wring out) micro wipe is effective for me. If you need a stronger solvent / cleaner, apply the cleaner to the wipe - I would avoid spraying anything which could 'run' and short out electronics.
