search engine limit to post server migration threads?

Sat Aug 20, 2011 4:38 am

I just tried searching the word "chargepoint" and only came up with 3 results, while I know in the past I have had more than 8 pages worth of returns.

Same here. I just tried several searches for "Topics Titles" and general text and can not find things I could easily find before. I had wanted to add information on one topic for Balboa Park Chargers, but do not have time to search one by one though all the "active topics" until I find it so I can add a reply. :(

I'll 'rebuild' the search index... in the meantime, try the google search on the search page above the normal forum search form...

Another suggestion (not urgent):

Change the "Hide this ad" to "Donate Here".

Or, do something even MORE OBVIOUS to allow donations.

People wanting to make donations are NOT seeing/finding a way to do so.

Cheers, Gary

Thanks for the suggestion - There is a sticky thread called 'UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP - donate to the forum and get...'
I'll see where else we can squeeze in a link somewhere.

Searching still seems dodgy. At search.php, I tried to search for chief engineer or chief vehicle engineer and got no hits. :( Unfortunately, the same searches in the Google search box or directly on Google via site:mynissanleaf.com didn't turn up viewtopic.php?p=117834#p117834. :(

Kadota and Kadota-san in the MNL search box was also useless.

Any update on this? Search still seems pretty dodgy. At search.php, a search for altcar turns up nothing. On the Google search box on the same page, there are 2 hits.

Is someone going to fix this?

Searching 'chief engineer' at search.php turned up this thread (beacuse of your post) and the SF Bay Gathering #8 six times, including the exact post you mentioned.

So, why does a search for chief engineer miss these posts?
viewtopic.php?p=85775#p85775
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=850&start=500
viewtopic.php?p=128103#p128103
viewtopic.php?p=114599#p114599

(I searched for site:mynissanleaf.com chief engineer on Bing to help find the above...)

A search for altcar misses these posts I found w/the aid of Binging for site:mynissanleaf.com altcar.

Any update on this?

I've still seen problems w/missing search results.

1. Go to search.php
2. Type in Fiat for keywords
3. Select "Topic titles only"

Result:
No suitable matches were found.

Expected:
At least viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3188 should come up. I had to use Google to find it.
