hi,

I had a nissan leaf for about a month now 2013 Nissan Leaf SV.

My question is about the pilot line signal :

1. does the pilot signal go from the charger to the car or from the car to the charger ?
2. if the pilot signal goes to the car and i apply a constant 40% duty cycle square wave to the pilot line going from the charger to the car will that enable the level 2 charging on the car ?
3. what pilot signal voltage enables or starts charging (+12 vdc, +9vdc, or +6vdc) so that i can fix the voltage of the pilot square wave signal ?

I am planning to apply a 220vac single phase (Line , Nutral, Gnd) and a constant pilot signal of 40% Duty Cycle to enable 30A charging

any advice or diagrams is highly appreciated

Best Regards
Almustafa

The voltage has to be switched.

Here is what Chris Howell has to say about J1772
