My idea for a bumper sticker or rear window graphic for my new Leaf:

Batteries Included
No War Required

Nice.

I wonder why we don't hear "blood oil" - only blood diamonds

Two thumbs way up!! I was thinking of, "No soldier ever died over electricity".

With this graphic would make a good t-shirt.

THAT would make an awesome shirt evnow. If someone can do it, please make the 'Ministry of Oil' larger so it really stands out.

Anyone with artistic skills, please feel free to go for it. Would at least be a good niche bumper sticker. Think I'll try cut vinyl window graphics.

That's a great looking sticker!! If any enterprising Leafer wants to print up a batch, I have used The Sticker Guy (http://www.stickerguy.com/) in the past with excellent results.

the days of putting a bumper sticker on a brand new
car are over.... for me at least.

Careful. There are some folks out there who confuse a desire for peace with a putdown of America.

I think the Leaf itself already pushes some hot-buttons just because it isn't using petroleum, doesn't pollute, etc.... How un-American! That's why I wouldn't want anything on the car shouting out "zero emissions", etc.. Wouldn't want anyone keying it in retaliation to my "smugness". I was actually thinking of debadging the thing.

So true.... what a sad commentary on modern America.

Eisenhower warned of the MIC and in today's politics he
would be drummed out of the republican party as a socialist,
commie pig whose sexuality is in question and who was
probably born elsewhere........

one of my older graphics.... which I would never put on
a vehicle but do wear on a t-shirt.....

I leave marketing to the professionals, but you could key off the energy independence theme with something like:

"Powered by 100% locally-grown energy. No drilling required."

Doesn't use [mostly foreign] petroleum - right.
Doesn't pollute - wrong.

You won't be charging your Leaf by flying a kite in a thunderstorm. As for solar and wind, what little of that there will be for quite a while to come, you know those coal and natural gas generators that are backed down by solar and wind generation? They're going to crank back up again when the Leafs plug in.

EVs will pollute less, using primarily domestic fossil fuels, but in the overall scheme of things electricity is not a pollution free energy source.

Well done.

Me too. About the only concern I have about buying the Leaf is avoiding the "Prius Effect." $35K is way too much money to put in harms' way unnecessarily.

I just want to stay away from gas stations, I don't want to change the world. Or get in arguments about it.

I can't speak for everyone, but for others on here and myself, we will be using our pvs. I'll be using them during the day at off-peak hours, so yes, it WILL be zero emissions. :)
