2011 Electric Park Brake problem

Sat Jun 15, 2019 12:50 pm

Had the (P) light flashing and "Visit dealer" on the dash.... been to dealer and they plugged in and say that it will take a lot of work to get to the bottom of the problem of the problem and that the parts are very expensive. Based on that I drove home and dropped the actuator from the rear of the car and have striped the unit and checked the motor function. All was in good condition and seem to work well. A few answers from those who know better would be very helpful.
1. What is the white steel / nylon sensor under the actuator cover... it appears to detect when the brake is fully released, but I cant account of the 5 wires going to the sensor?
2. Given that mechanically all looks well, what should be my next step?

Thanks

Did they give you an idea what codes came up with the error? If not, I think the LEAFSpy app to get those codes would be my next step.
