I bought a Leaf 9 mos ago and had an electrician install a Bosch charger EL51253 I bought from Amazon. Last Friday, it failed - quit - and I'm not getting much help from Bosch. Does anyone have any experience with the Clipper Creek chargers? I like the price and warranty, but am unsure about the charging time on the 15 amp model.

To be clear, you're looking for an EVSE, NOT a "charger". See http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14728&p=332668#p332668" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Are you sure the EVSE failed? Have you tried another L2 EVSE? What about the L1 120 volt that came w/the car?

What model year do you have? If it's a '13+ is it the S trim? If so, do you have the "charge package"?

Yes, have a Clipper Creek...simple design and excellent quality. Why 15 amp model? It will double the charging time.

On your Bosch, need to do some simple troubleshooting. Look for obvious problems like damaged cables & connector, or a supply/line power problem. Like someone else mentioned the EVSE should be under warranty if it failed.

No, it MAY double the charge time. OP hasn't said if they have the 6.0kW charger in their LEAF. If it's an S w/o QC option or a '11-'12 MY car, then the difference will be marginal.

A couple of my friends have the 30A ClipperCreek EVSE and they love theirs, like the posters above said I highly recommend getting the higher amperage models, not just because they will charge quicker but also is more future proof as I see the 6.6kw charger becomes the standard in the future.

Happy Clipper Creek customer here. I have the 32A unit for 7.7 kW.

My first one had an intermittent error light and their customer service was very timely and helpful in getting it replaced. They sent out the replacement the next day without even taking a deposit and paid for the return shipping on the defective unit. I haven't had any further issues.

You mean 6.0 kW, NOT kWh.
