does anyone know how to remove the driver's side view mirror on a 2012 leaf? I don't know how to pry off the plastic cover to get to the screws. Any common clues greatly appreciated

Maybe to access the electrical connector ?

Yeah, that would be my guess too, thinking about it. Actually probably more a matter of access for fishing the wiring out of the door frame, which is not very clever design work IMHO.
