I bought an "extra"--though I'm not exactly sure why, yet--Nissan OEM EVSE on eBay, and the seller indicated that it was compatible with 2011-2015 Leafs:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191388775557?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

However, I notice that there are some slight differences between this model and that which came with my 2015 Leaf. Most strikingly, the model number on the eBay item is 29690 3NA0A, but the model that came with my car is 29690 3NF2E.

Are these compatible? Should I have any reason to be concerned? (Should I return the eBay EVSE?)

Thanks!

Will work, but looks like an early model.

To see why you may want the newer one, if you want to upgrade to 240 V.

I am aware of one important safety improvement that the newer narrower portable EVSE has over the original wider one (like which came with my 2011 Leaf): it monitors its 120v plug for excessively high temperature (which could occur due to arcing caused by a high resistance (too loose) coupling at the wall receptacle or a loose power wire at the receptacle), and it will terminate a charging session (with an appropriate blinking indicator light) if detected.

On the '13 Leaf (and presumably '14 and '15), the brick is smaller, the J1772 handle is different and the 120 volt plug is different too. And yes, the '13's supposedly has thermal monitoring of the plug.
