There are a bunch of Infiniti EV threads - I'll close those, now that Infiniti EV officially makes its debut tomorrow. But here are the early photos someone nabbed. I'll update the thread (and this post) with more info, as we get to know them.

I think the shape and lines are quite nice, but that front "grill" looks atrocious! :eek:
Edit: At least the wheel gaps on this concept car aren't as bad as the Leaf's.

Mean looking headlights. I think a different color grill will make the car look better. The current silver is too jazzy.

The beltline is interesting. I did not like this signature C pillar that Infiniti keeps rolling out... but its growing on me. That grille is, um... different.

Where is the charge port??? I assume mat charging but what about public charging.

More pics here;

Is it just me or is there a kink in the beltline at the center of the rear door? It should flow smoothly from tip to tail... and does not appear to. :cry:

Would they please hire some Italian or German designers. Yikes. Body panels of many cars and even some sea animals with a touch of acrylic bling.

It looks "heavy" to me from every angle, rather than sleek. The glass area is too small compared with the more massive lower metal area, which I assume is largely due to the bulky battery box that sits below the seats. These proportions are also present in the LEAF, but either I'm so used to the LEAF's looks that I don't notice it, or the design of the LEAF incorporates the proportions more gracefully because the LEAF is not trying to look like a sleek upmarket sedan.

Like Herm, I was expecting something prettier. I'll stay tuned for more details and actual production photos before I pass judgement, however. I've grown to like production versions of many cars when I didn't like them on first sight.

Oh, and I'll wager that there is a trunk there rather than a hatch, unfortunately IMHO.

As a former3x Infiniti owner, love them for taking design risks over these pos cookie cutter American cars. The grill is definitely for show but, if I did not have my awesome "Chili"Leaf already, I would put a deposit on this one.

By the way, just got my utility bill and in 3 months of owning my Leaf I have put 1,700 miles for a total of $14.00 dollars. Take that OPEC.

I like the esflow concept way better and their emergi concept as well. They are both sexy, this is not that sexy but a step in the right direction. The grill seems off. They should just make a G37 EV.

This looks ok, though it is not different enough from the Leaf to make me upgrade. Darn it.

Sometimes cars look much different in person, but if that's not the case Nissan isn't going to be selling many of these based on styling. It really seems like a lot of mixed up design parts that don't fit together. The grill is priceless.

More official pics here, including a pretty spiffy interior. Those shot outdoors look better than the early ones shown by Car and Driver.

I'm more encouraged about the car from these pics. Technical specs should follow very soon,

More details in Nissan's press release. They're saying that the concept has the "proven" 24kWh battery pack, i.e. same as LEAF's. Disappointing. Torque and horsepower are increased, however.
