What's wrong with the sky ??!!! It's blue!

Part of the reason for that photo was to prove that we do get Sun once in a while - even in December. :p

ps : But for the cloud I'd be working on my backyard right now ... instead of starting this thread !!

LOL!! the problem lately, it the ONLY time we get any sun. coming home from work this morning (working half day mandatory OT) it was in the low 50's. of the 59 days in Jan/Feb this year, we were warmer 37 days then than today

In the central Puget Sound area, ECOtality expects to install 900 residential charging stations and 1,000 commercial stations, 150 of which will be on publicly-owned land, company officials say.

Another 45 fast chargers, which can charge a battery in about half an hour, rather than overnight, will also be allocated to the area.

This is how EV friendly Bellevue is

"We don't want to be a barrier to the market moving in this direction," said Sheida Sahandy, the city's chief environmental policy advisor.

A 2009 state law requires cities such as Bellevue -- ones that border regional freeways and meet a population threshold -- to amend development regulations by July 1 to encourage the transition to electric vehicle use.
Wow ! :D

So ... the choice is a] California sunshine; b] lowest carbon footprint (almost no A/C use, no lawn watering  ) ... move to Seattle ... hmmm ...

If one looks at the charging sites listed, many are either private or in pay parking lots.

The placement of Level 3 chargers at sufficient well-chosen, properly-spaced, easily-accessable points along I-5 (and other transportation corridors) will be hugely significant.

With a L3 charger every 50 miles on flat land, and 25 or so in hills and mountains ... what a day that will be.

Level 2 chargers do not really help all that much unless you happen to be spending significant time parked there. If we had plug-in L2 EVSEs, just 240v sockets would be sufficient ... but, I suppose they want to be able to charge for the e-fuel.

An L2 charger can fuel only one (or a small few) cars a day. An L3 charger may cost 5 or 10 times as much initially, but it could fuel 20 or 30 cars a day. I suspect, for a real e-fueling business, only the Level 3 Quick-fueling will make sense (with a few 120v, L1, and L2 connections for non-L3 vehicles.

It will be interesting to see how the different factions compete for our e-fuel business. Will there be different "brands" of e-fuel, black e-fuel, green e-fuel, red ... ? Already there are different "brands" of e-stations.

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Washington state is getting $1.3 million in federal stimulus money to build electric car charging stations along Interstate 5.

OMG! Dave's up there doing the Snoopy Dance!

[note to self...see if we can bounce off enough KOAs to get to I5 - then we'll be home free!]

WHHHHHOOOOO!!! YA YA!!!

when people win the Super Bowl, they yell it, now i can yell "i am going to Disneyland in my NISSAN LEAF!!"

so you think Pete Carroll is going to bring home the trophy?

LOL... well maybe, but at least he can get away with doing in Seattle what he got in trouble for doing at USC...but then again, the official word is the boosters were responsible for the NCAA violations, but then again, the coach is never to blame...

as we know, the sale tax exemption for hybrid/EV's expires December 31st.

anyone have an idea of how many from WA state registered for early sale of the Leaf? wondering how much of a risk am i in of not getting my Leaf in time to get that sales tax waived. i bought my 2010 Prius sales tax free that enjoyed it so much i would very much like to do it again!!

now a lot of numbers have been bounced around on how many cars will be available in each of the initial launch areas and when they would be delivered. i am thinking (hoping) around 1000 will be delivered by Dec 31st in each area so i only need to be in the first 1000 or so to get in.

any thoughts on this?

And merging with Seattle thread.

According to the article on San Diego - which said the # of reservations are some 800 - Seattle area was supposed to be more. So my guess is that not all Seattle area reservations will be filled in December. I know too bad .... OTOH, that makes Lease attractive.

Merging with PNW thread.

so u think of the people registered april 20th, more than 800-900 were from this area?

oh that would not be good.

I don't think more than 900 reservations from this area came on 20th. But - I don't think we are getting that many cars either in December.

BTW, do you know where you are in terms of priority within the area or atleast within the dealer list - can the dealer tell you that ?
