I have been following the development of EV's on youtube and greencar reports for some time and I'm ready to ride in a leaf . Would appreciate an actual owners perspective . I've received lots of information from poster's on this website that will be very useful. Now for the rubber meets the road. Can anyone meetup for coffee and a short ride in a Leaf (preferably with the 30 kwh batter which is what i'm looking at) . I don't own yet and already have range anxiety. I would gladly pay for the experience (or pay for lunch, your option). I do not want a salesperson from nissan telling me how 'perfect world ' this car will be for my family. I'm a realist.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I'm very far from you (deep in the South Bay), otherwise, I'd offer. Leaf has been my primary car and daily driver for 4 years now.

If you can wait until September, there will be EVents in the Bay Area. See https://driveelectricweek.org/. I plan to be at the Cupertino one.

You could post your query at https://www.facebook.com/groups/BayLeafs/.

What are your daily driving needs in terms of miles? How much city vs. highway? Will you have the ability to charge at your work/destinations?

You do realize that the next gen Leaf will be unveiled in September 5th, right?

You're also in a very hot part of the Bay Area, so you will have pretty significant battery degradation vs. cooler parts. For whatever reason, it seems the 30 kWh batteries aren't holding up very well: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=23606.
