That is the claim of the Village of Pinecrest, which installed the 44kW unit at Pinecrest Gardens, the former home of Parrot Jungle. The Village accepted a $1,569 donation from Nissan to fund the unit. The main problem with the State of Florida's first public Quickcharge station is its hours: only 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and one hour later in summer. There is also only one station

The Pinecrest station is listed on Plugshare. The address is 11000 SW 57th Avenue (also known as Red Road), in the northeast section of the parking lot. I will try it tomorrow.

The Pinecrest quick charger was previously discussed here:

My wife has used it several times and it works great!

The Herald did an article in Sunday's Neighbor's section:

Thanks to Ethan Shapiro (Tesla owner) in getting the grant from Nissan.

I tried the unit today. At first I was worried that it would be available because there were two events going on at Pinecrest Gardens: a wedding and an Organic Food Festival. Although the parking lot was jammed, the "Electric Vehicles Only" space was open for me.

It took me awhile to get the hang of connecting the EVSE. The handle has a trigger like a gas pump that you need to squeeze in order to fully insert the unit into the connector on the LEAF. Once it got connected the charging started fine.

I arrived with 6 bars: or 51% of a full charge. Recharging took longer than I expected: it was 48 minutes to 86% charge and another 16 minutes to 98%, where the unit turned itself off. I shopped at the food festival in the meantime.

For others who might use it, you might find the video I posted a link to at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=354469#p354469" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; along w/my post there useful.

And, you should double check whether that unit has a grey/black handle lock on the back (away from the inlet) that's not pictured in the video.

Quick chargers are very fast up to 80% and then they slow down considerably between 80-100%. If someone's waiting for the quick charger it's better to switch to a L2 charging station after 80%.
