Hello fellow BC EV/PHEV owners, I stumbled on a thread at the Tesla Motors Club forum (Cdn sub-forum) on the possibility that the BC CEV program was coming back for 2015. Sure enough, there is a small blurb on page 22 of the BC Budget (http://bcbudget.gov.bc.ca/2015/bfp/2015_Budget_and_Fiscal_Plan.pdf):

In addition, Budget 2015 reintroduces the Clean Energy Vehicle Incentive Program
and a fuelling/charging infrastructure program which will provide British Columbians
incentives when considering the variety of clean and green choices for their transportation
needs. Additional energy efficiency and conservation initiatives will also be implemented.

I'm hoping that someone on this forum might know a bit more information. I've written a letter to Mary Polak, cc'ed Christy Clark, with what I hope to see the program come back as. I also bought my car during what looks like the 'gap year' for incentives... so it would be wonderful if they 'back-dated' the rebate program to cover those of us who still bravely took the plunge in 2014 anyways.

Looks like you missed it by 3 months. New funding on charge point locations would be nice though. http://www.livesmartbc.ca/incentives/transportation/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Saw an article in the sun today about. A $3000 rebate for those scrapping. 2000 or older car. This could work for us but hesitant due to the leaf redesign And market break out potential in 2016 2017.

I have seen up to $3250 rebate on that scrap it program depending on which website you go to and then this: http://www.autos.ca/general-news/state-charge-bc-green-car-rebate-returns-april-2015/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Have to wait and see it on a government website first like livesmartbc.

Round 2, better this time possible $8250.00 rebate if you own a clunker.( Maybe worth picking one up for cheap, so long as it has 4 wheels and is pre 2000 just to get the additional $3250). Still haven't seen if they will subsidize EVSE EQ this time. Last one I got $500.00 rebate on my L2 ( I think it was provincial also) and if I lived just out of town I could have got an additional $250.00 municipal rebate as well.

I noticed something a bit odd this morning, $452,500 of funding is apparently missing from the CEV program since it was announced a few weeks ago, with no indication that funds have been dispensed (it shows $0 as of this morning, April 20). A few weeks ago when I wrote my blog post (http://kootenayevfamily.ca/clean-energy-vehicle-incentive-returns/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in relation to the program, the total showed $6,500,000; now it shows $6,047,500. Did they re-allocate some of the funding? Error in the graphic showing $0 dispensed?

I just bought my used 2013 leaf and used the scrap it rebate obtaining a 3250 discount on top of a negotiated price of ~$24000 for a SL+tech with 32,000 km and a health of 93%. I think I did pretty well (except for some cosmetic damage I assume this leaf would have been listed quite a bit higher.)

I think you did very well vwDavid... unfortunately myself and others who bought in the gap year really have gotten the short end of the stick with the gov'ts indecision last year. You have essentially the same car I have now (I rolled over 34,000km recently and it is an SL), but bought it for $24k instead of $38k. You were able to benefit because your car will have come from another jurisdiction with a large incentive (or from BC when we still had the incentive perhaps, though only a handful of 2013s were sold here).

(And for any armchair quarterbacks out there, I didn't get to choose the timing on my purchase and there were no 2013's for sale for months before or after my purchase. Such is life sometimes!)

Yep, I understand it sucked to by an EV between March 2014 and April 2015. In fact I was able to wait, somewhere not. At least the rebates did come back...better than nothing.
