I did this program for many years and saved quite a bit, without even adjusting my usage. I put a sample bill below so you could compare with the capacity charge, 5.27kw is high I use a lot of juice and didn't adjust usage for demand, though capacity charge multiplier was
$4.18609 so a lower demand doesn't make much of a difference if you use a lot of juice. The multiplier changes twice a year it's now like $1.50 but can vary. Below the last bill is the billing history so overall I saved a bit and could have more if I switched demand a little.
Overall I think it's a good program and to address the concerns of an earlier poster, you can switch back to the standard rate or another supplier if you so choose. You can check the pricing, current and historical, on their website and if enrolled get text messages if the price exceeds 10c or 14c. I thought it would be cool to integrate with home automation but I never did. I'm not on the program anymore because I moved outside of ComEd service territory but would continue to do the program otherwise. Overall since my participation began however many years ago I've saved over $1,000 vs the "standard" rate.
