I noticed an illustration of the charger being moved to the front of the car in 2013. Three pages later, there's another illustration of the high voltage parts, and the charger is back in the rear again. From this, I conclude that we can't really rely on this document to tell us what's changed in 2013 and what's not. I had been wondering about this very thing (the pressurized battery) since they revised the packaging on it and some speculated it might be open to the air.
As a former backyard mechanic, I can say that the "special tools" section of a service manual was always regarded as an idea book for the jigs we'd build for ourselves.
