I'm also a fan of plugs, carry a plug kit(5 plugs, glue and tool) in my Leaf all the time. I had occasion to use it when one of my OEM Ecopias got a screw stick in the tread. Jacked up car(maybe not necessary but I was in the driveway) removed screw, cleaned hole with tool, spread glue over plug and near hole, shoved plug w/tool in hole, cut off excess plug with straight back razor. No air lost in the 3 months I continued to use the tires until I replaced all 4 with new Ecopias.
Note the glue is kind of a one time use(dries out in tube once opened) so I replaced the open glue with a new tube
