Since I rarely have anyone in the rear seats but often have more grocery bags than fit in the back, I use plastic storage bins on the back of the folded-down rear seats (the bins keep the bags from falling over, and more importantly ensure that if something leaks I don't get a mess to deal with).

The tip I wanted to share is to put small pieces of male (hook side) adhesive-backed Velcro on the bottom of the bins to keep them from sliding off.

While I started with much longer strips of Velcro, these just tugged too much on the seat backing when the bins aren't needed.
