I am picking up my a used 2011 Leaf tomorrow. I am thinking of going to these wheels:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pts/4614010891.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They are 18" wheels from a G35. I got the idea from this post:
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=14681" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The original poster does not give any long term impression of the wheels.
I am just going for the look. I would be ok with a minimal range reduction, up to 10%, anything more and I would regret the purchase.
I will look for the lowest rr tires available in the appropriate size. Does anyone have experience with these rims positive or negative?

The wheels in the craigslist ad are different from the ones in that thread. The ones in the thread are 17" wheels.

I just got the 17" G35 wheels myself (see page 2 of that thread), and put them on with new tires just last night. If you give me a couple of weeks, I'll try to determine how much it affects range. I don't keep close track of that though, so don't expect too much info. ;-)

Thank you for saving my the headache of realizing I need 17"s after buying 18"s...
I am thinking the range penalty will be ok for my commute - 25 miles w/ charge station at work.

I am glad 18"s are an option. I am a bit confused about offset. I am now considering both infinity and lexus rims since many lexus take offs are chrome.
Like these gs 400 rims

These g37 wheels look nice too.

Is my research correct that stock leaf offset is 33mm front and rear?

Where did you see that?

The stock 16"x6.5" wheels have a 40mm offset.

This post says that the stock 17"x6.5" wheels have a 45mm offset, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Just got my 18" infinity g37 rims installed. They really look good. The end of the cv axle makes it impossible to install the center caps up front. Should I run spacers to address that issue ?

I'm thinking if I found some axle nuts that you stake down instead of the cotter pin type I could shave off the end of the axle enough to use the center caps.
If it wasn't so painful to add pictures to this forum I would show everyone what I am talking about.

Let us know how those 18's are, they're pretty heavy. What tires and tire size are you running on?

My 17's have been perfect, waiting for the rubber to wear down to install my 18's, they are forged and weigh under 19Lbs. :D

Oh and yes, shaving about 3~4mm off the front axle stud will allow you to fit the centercaps. I had to do that on mine as well.

I'll keep an eye on consumption. So far it looks like over 15% but I need to get out on the freeway to know for sure. I commute 7 miles each way 4 days a week and 25 miles each way once a week with chargers at work, so I am ok with taking a hit.
Did I mention these tires are huge. Goodyear eagle 235/45/18 tires. The leaf looks lifted.
It still has a nice ride with theses big tires, unlike the low profile tires I put on my gen3 prius.
I may order these next

How did you end up choosing the 235/45-18? that's a large tire. Also if you have a chance can you weigh the wheel/tire combo? When I did the math the closest size to stock in 18" comes out to 225/40-18.

I got a great deal on rims and tires. The tires had only 1000 miles on them, seller was close to my house. I just grabbed the tire rim combo without any real research. Having driven other cars with low profile tires I am glad that a larger tire can fit in the leaf wheel well. It still has that Buick ride feel. Only problem is it looks like a cross over suv now. I would love to lower the car next. I followed the lowering thread on this forum but did not really find lowering springs nor anything on ebay.

Thanks for the pic!

The car looks great but I have a question... Hows does this effect the range of the vehicle, if it does at all??

The wheels certainly effect the range. I don't have a real base line for the before range since I only had the car for two days before changing the wheels.

Ok I am ready to take the next step and lower the Leaf!
These are what I wish to buy but too expensive:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400595129206?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In attempt to be cheap and cut corners I will probably order these or similar:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-5-DROP-RACING-SUSPENSION-LOWERING-SPRINGS-FITS-07-12-SENTRA-SE-R-SER-BLACK-/191324146753?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2011%7CMake%3ANissan%7CModel%3ASentra&hash=item2c8bcecc41&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Does anyone think the Sentra springs will definitely not fit the Leaf. I mean does anyone know that the sentra springs will not fit the leaf, I'm not really interested in a bunch of guess work here say opinions.
Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Just ordered these cheap b16 lowering springs
