I'm leasing a LEAF for 3 years and the stock 4 speakers are okay but left something to be desired so I want to install a sub. Would I be able to do this if I have a lease?

If there are mounting holes there for the Bose system, use them. Look in the cargo floor right behind the back seat. Basically you have to make the car look unaltered when you turn it in. What you do before then is not counted.

I had a sub in my i-MiEV for the two years I leased it. I just used a standard 10" sub enclosure (non-ported), a 10" Pioneer sub I had sitting around, and an older Sony amp that accepts speaker-level inputs. Just tap into one of the speakers for the input. For power, find a large fuse and tap into that for the switched and unswitched power. Worked like a charm for me and only took me 15 minutes to remove.
