There have been some related threads before, like these:
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=18731
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=13664
and most recently http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28497.
Anyway, use this thread to discuss how to get a deal on SiriusXM and/or deals you've gotten on their service. There's a long running thread at https://www.tivocommunity.com/community/index.php?threads/soak-getting-deal-on-xm.473941/. You need to have a free account there to view it. It began in 2011 and is at 59 pages long now.
Essentially, for the longest time, if you canceled and stayed canceled for long enough or bargained w/their CSRs long enough, you can usually get XM Select for about $5/mo + fees for 5 or 6 months. When your subscription is about to renew at the regular rates, you need to call them to cancel or try to get the same/similar deal. You can usually rinse and repeat as many folks, including me, have done this for years.
However, as I noted at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=554255#p554255, the most recent offer I got was $5.60/month for 5 months.
The full price that SiriusXM wants is ridiculously high and not worth it for the sound quality. But, at $5 or even $5.60/mo, I'm ok with it.
