The shifter design cost Nissan a Leaf sale!! I was trying to convince my wife to get a Leaf for her commute, but she felt insecure driving the car due to the strange shifter. We ended up buying a Versa instead! I wonder how many other sales this same issue has cost Nissan?? To me, if you are trying to get the average person into an "alternative" vehicle, it needs to FEEL as familiar as possible, not like something completly unknown or gimmiky. The Honda Fit EV shifter is how the Leaf shifter should be as well! OR just use the same "computer mouse" shifter and make it slide back and forth with the usual P R N D pattern with the B mode added after D. Simple change that should cost Nissan almost nothing and NOT cost them Leaf sales losses! A change will not put off any buyers and will attract more buyers. I'm hoping for a redesign for the 2014 Leaf, cuz if it is so, I will get one! Thanks.
