I made an app that implements the Leaf Range Chart by Tony Williams, and I think the app is now ready.

Check it out here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nikpix.LeafRangeCalc

Or search for Nissan Leaf Range Estimator on Google Play.

Any problems, comments, requests, or ideas, please post in this thread.

Thanks,
Nikolay
Nice! I like the Battery Level option of %, Bars, or GIDS, This will come in handy today, thanks,

Thanks for your efforts! I'll download it later today and try it out. Do you prefer comments here on the forum or as part of a review at the store?

If your comment is something that may help another person figure out if this app is for them or not, please put it on the store. Otherwise - please post here.

Awesome! Much easier to use than the iOS one!

Two enhancement requests:

1) Don't assume a new battery, as this may be optimistic. Please allow battery capacity degradation to be input as either capacity bars remaining or percent of original capacity.
2) Please reverse the slider for "Energy Economy". I set it for distance/kWh, but I had to slide it LEFT to get a higher economy number. That feels very strange!

I will give 5 stars and feedback now.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion - I will look into 1, and 2 is already on the market - version 1.3.

Just downloaded, got ver 1.2.

1. A half-dozen Personal-Preset buttons to set the sliders to
my own common sitiations would be very nice.

2. Increase and Decrease (Arrow-Buttons) on each parameter libe to fine-tune any selected "coarse" value would be nice.

3. A larger font for the slider values, to be able to read them at a glance while driving, would be nice.

4. Elevation change (up a long grade, for example) will depend upon how far one gets along the journey. Perhaps a "grade" or climb rate would be better, or another "units" option in Settings.

5. How to handle going up a big hill and down again, with no net elevation change? Maybe total UPs, and total DOWNs?

6. How to handle many ups and downs (hills), or handle a few large climbs, with a few major decents?

7. Maybe some user-entered (touch) elevation points for the trip on an Elevation Chart, over a user-set (in Settings) distance, max elevation, and min elevation for the trip?

Great so far!

What language are you programming in?

Thanks for the suggestions - comments!

I will put this on the improvement list and get to it when I have some time.

I had a prototype doing that but it was too "messy" - can you describe which value do you have problems finetuning that would affect your range by say more than 1mile?

Good point - will get to it.

I can't see an easy or simple way to do this - the best option would be a map with a route and elevation profile... but that would take some time. If I get more than 600 app downloads I consider putting some effort and making it happen.

java

You might include the version number in the About info.
I suspect that I just upgraded to the 1.3 version.

Do you have a Preference for Language to get the Swedish version?

Thanks - I will do that with the next update. The 1.3 has a tiny bar that attempts to visually show the change in the estimated range.

Nope, the app changes the interface language based on the language settings on your android device. So if you change your android device language to Swedish, the app will appear in Swedish.

garygid said:
Oh, I did not want my whole Tablet to go Swedish, just the App.

Maybe a Preference to select one of the languages you support, or the Tablet's language?
Sorry, I can't be bothered.
Why would you want to have the app in Swedish? I can put a screenshot in Swedish on the market.

Not compatible with my ancient motorola

oh well....
what version of android os runs on your motorola?

Android o/s version 2.1 "Éclair"

<edit> It's the Motorola Defy. The "indestructible" one. Gorilla glass and waterproof. Not going to break this one on a campout like my old crackberry which got dropped into 6 inches of water in my flooded tent.

Works great on my rooted Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.0.3. Hopefully I'll be on Jelly Bean soon.

Thanks.

Just posted version 1.4 - it should now work on android 2.1.

Just uploaded version 1.4 - you can now see the app version in the about screen.
And the numbers are 2dp bigger.

Ha, that's interesting. I had the privilege of working with a team at Motorola on Defy+ last year. There were not enough prototypes, and we used Defy production handsets as our testbed. The new Gingerbread-based Defy+ firmware works pretty well with the old hardware. There are some downsides, and the loss of use of the built-in camera would be one of them. This is unfortunate, but unavoidable, since Defy+ uses a new camera chip.
