I just would like to know 2011-2012 owners current bar loss and current range from 100% charge till lbw. Thanks

still 11 bars in my 2012.

Leafspy says I have over 17 kWh usable and I average around 4.5 miles per kWh. So I can drive 75 miles or so to turtle. Take off 15 miles if you want to stop at LBW and call it 60 miles from full charge to LBW.

I can't imagine why you would avoid driving past LBW though. I drove around town starting at 18 miles on the Guesometer (GOM) the other day. Went interstate playing with speedometer calibration around 55 mph to my first stop. Drove home surface roads with 10 miles on the GOM but I drove slower (35 to 45 with several red lights) and got home with 5 on the GOM (15.5% SOC or 2.5 kWh or 6.7 miles remaining according to leafspy).

Leafspy app told me the whole time that I had 10 miles range more than I needed to get home (about 5 more than the GOM showed on the start of the return trip).

If I had stopped to charge on an L2 when the LBW hit, with the intention to charge so that LBW wouldn't hit before I got home, I would have wasted an hour charging for no good reason.

I got home and plugged up the L2 EVSE and charged to 80% just for the heck of it. I didn't have anywhere to go for the next day and a half so it sat in a garage soaking in low 70s temps after that.

My 2012 LEAF still has 12 bars and am just shy of 20,000 miles. Besides my regular around town driving, I drive 60-62 miles twice a month and do not hit LBW, but I feel as if I must be close. I don't have LeafSpy or any of those things people talk about on this forum. I just drive my LEAF as I would any vehicle, and I still love it almost 3 years later.

I'm not sure this is a very useful question to ask.

Have you looked at the range chart at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=101293" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? Even w/a brand new battery, per the chart, one could go from full to LBW depending on one's efficiency between 53 and 108 miles. If you drive the optimal 12 mph (as indicated in the PDF of the chart via https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1d9htu2bqoaej8/LEAFrangeChartVersion7G100.pdf?dl=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, not the bitmap), one could go even further.

And... to top it off, in winter, there's some temporary capacity loss and increased power consumption from heater usage and increased rolling friction from rain, slush and/or snow.

Driving home up our mountain, a 4900' climb, our 2011 goes from full to LBW in about 18 miles.

On the other hand, I recently drove about 88 miles before hitting LBW when starting from home, with very conservative driving.

Thanks for some amazing feedback, it is nice to know what other people are getting out of the first gen leafs in real life alot of factors come into play ie weather elevation or what not, charts can do but its nice to see what other people are experiencing, its also nice for other people to see if a new buyer wants a used or new. As for mines i get 45-50 till lbw 10 bars 2012 leaf 30,000miles i drive 4.1 average. Before my car accident i use to make 4.7-5.0 average but i cant get over 4.3 now, other than that i love the car and i am having a hard time pairing my leafspy with 2 elm reader.

Did you check the alignment after the repairs? You might have to find an independent tire shop or a reputable frame straightening shop. If you can't get 2 of 3 full alignment checks to agree someone is lying or doesn't know what they are doing. If 2 agree and say it is out of alignment you need to fix that (and likely get your insurance involved again).

It might cost you but considering how many posts you've made recently on this board it looks like you might be losing sleep over it already.

Hahaha i think your right, after a few weeks when i picked it up from progressive center they said the alignment was done and replaced the rim when i saw the invoice, but im not that stupid and took a picture of the rims after the accident and they just switched the rear rim to the front, before the car goes toward the right now it goes left and the steering wheel is still off to the right same as when the accident happend.

Sweet :D hehhe did i just saw you can do 5.5 average?
Yes, that is my average over the life of my Leaf. Of course, most of that involves slower freeway driving of 20-55 MPH (depending on traffic, which often limits my speed). My daily commute also involves about 1500 feet of gain (and loss) for the round trip.

2011 almost 54000 miles, 82% SOH, 11 bars. Yesterday I drove from Camas, WA to Castle Rock, WA, 62 miles. Got the LBW just before getting off the freeway. Cruise control at 60 mph most of the way, nice whether 90F. Charged for 30 minutes to 83% SOC, drove about 20 miles in the hills towards Longview, then I got on the freeway and reach Ridgefield with 2 bars, cruise control at 65 mph on the freeway. Charged 15 minutes, and got home with 5 bars, cruise control at 60 mph. Battery temp at 7 bars - 106F when I reached home.

I never again want an EV where I have to do this. Full freeway speeds without having to play range games for the life of the car or I'm out...

Full to 24% Gids (about 6 miles before LBW) I can go 50 miles at 60 MPH with 900 feet elevation gain.

>36,500 miles, and >50 months from the factory.

101.6 odometer miles last night from "100%" (203 G) to ~VLBW (24 G), ~101.7 miles as calculated by http://www.gpsvisualizer.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, including ~6,600 ft total ascent and same total descent.

Add ~ 0.8 m and ~150 ft. D/A (not mapped by Google) to the ~100.9 m trip below:

Yes, it was warm, and I drove slowly.

40.6 odo miles from LBW (just before Hatchet MT pass) to ~VLB, ~ half a mile short of my best.

Sooner or later I want to start from the LBW near the HW 89 summit at Lassen PEAK, descending into the Valley.

With ~8,000 ft. net descent, I figure 70 to 80 miles should be available, from LBW to VLBW.

I don't think LBW is a useful lower limit for range. As the battery degrades LBW (and VLBW) come at increasingly high percentages of the SOC, because they are at fixed energy levels. The car is quite useful to below VLBW.

I'm recently down one capacity bar, so ~85% of original capacity. I'd guess I am at about 50 miles of range to VLBW in winter and 60-65 miles in summer. That's with 2500 feet of elevation change and about two thirds at 60 mph, one third at 25-40 mph, and dry roads. I always charge some at my destination city nowadays, so it is hard to know what the actual range is, save that I can't do 70+ miles under those conditions anymore. I don't need to use the heater, even in winter, so it isn't a factor.

So much depends on one's individual driving conditions, it is hard to draw any conclusions from anecdotal range reports.

2012 SV
I'm down to 11 bars

I can get about 60 miles in the summer. In the winter it's 40 miles. In extreme conditions (-15F), its around 30.

At this point, the car meets my expectations in the summer, and barely works for me in the winter. One more year worth of degradation and I don't think it would be usable in the winter, so my lease is ending at a good time.

It sucks that Nissan forces owners to get to 66.25% before the warranty kicks in. Assume for a moment that my car does qualify for a new battery, I would be getting around 20 miles of range in the winter on a 100% charge. That's a joke.

I'm so glad this is a lease.

About 50 miles from 100% charge to first battery warning, 6 temperature bars, no Interstate driving, with A/C running, and a little hilly. Also, I'm awed by the high miles/kwh other posters get...rarely do I exceed 3.9 and mostly in the low- to mid-3's.
