UPDATE: For those just reading this thread... problem solved. I must have had a 'false memory'
that it was my Leaf that had the backup camera. Actually, I was "remembering" this from a test
drive with the dealer that did have it.... So, never mind.

-----------------

Backup camera worked only once... now it is not working when put car
in reverse.

Am I missing something?

No, but maybe we are. We need more clues. Does the screen go black or does it stay on whatever's currently displayed? And did you go around the back to see if the camera was still there?

Ok.. the mystery deepens...

I have an SV, which presumably does NOT include the backup camera.

"For the LV: In addition to standard SV features, includes:
• Photovoltaic Solar Panel Spoiler
• RearView Monitor (RVM)"

However, it DID work once. This suggests that there is a backup camera on the SV
but that it is disabled via software (?).

Hummm... which suggests the possibility of "re-enabling" it.

Does your hatch handle have a camera in it?

No, the hatchback lift handle does not have that bump. So, I have apparently
gone absolutely batty!

But, I've got witness who were in the car, too, and they
said "wow" when the backup camera image appeared on the screen. So, we are
all batty!?

However, I wonder if the camera is actually at the top of the hatchback, under the lip:

..and, perhaps the bump on the hatchback latch has something to
do with the system that tells you how far away things are? Also, that seems
to be too low and pointed downward to give an image of what is behind the car.

Tell me I'm not insane? (I think they are coming to take me away.... the men in
white coats... ho ho, hee hee, ha ha...)

With my wife in the driver's seat, foot on the brake and the Leaf in reverse (see, she does to love me...), I did a quick "hand over the camera" test. My camera is definitely in the hatchback handle.

Ok, then. Just one more question...

Can anyone recommend a good psychiatrist? ;-)

For a good psychiatrist, I would recommend you contact Nissan, NA. I believe they are the folks who kept track of the Reservation/RAQ/Delivery date data for the Leaf. Those guys are right on top of things all the time.
