I bought a used Leaf almost year ago and, aside from charging timer malfunction, it has been ok in general.

However, few days ago it started humming. When charging, when driving, whenever I turn it on or give the beast some electricity it just spins up his fans and keeps at it until I switch it off or take electricity away. Granted, last few weeks weather has been warmer (20-30 C days, <20 nights) but it feels over excessive IMO.

Battery temperature, usually is around 5-6 bars (maybe 4 at night), last time I checked in the middle of the day with LeafSpy and it was 20-22 C. I cover 100km every day, charge with 220V every night.

No errors that I could see, nothing. Just humming.

Any experience? I've booked a meeting with my local service but is there anything I could snoop on my own? Does LeafSpy show up errors or I need to get separate OBD diagnostics dongle as well?

Anyways, thanks in advance!

Is the AC on? The compressor alone can make quite a bit of noise. Try turning climate control completely off and see what happens.

leafspy allows you to scan the canbus for codes, it is a very useful tool for that. But it does sound like you have a fan on in the engine bay. The fan usually runs with the heatpump, when you have AC or heat turned on. If you have an S model, then it only runs with AC. look under the hood with the car on, is the fan pushing air at the radiator in the front?

No, AC is [never] on. I turned everything off and it still spins.
Yes, both of the front fans are working, pushing air onto power unit under the hood.
Yeah, its model S.

One thing to check would be the cooling fan relay; it could be stuck on.

The relay is located inside a small black compartment under the hood, up near the passenger windshield. There are several relays and fuses in that box, but you should be able to identify by looking at the inside of the lid. It's labeled something like "motor fan".

If you remove it to check, and have continuity between terminals 3 and 5 then the relay is stuck on.

Thanks for ideas! Turned out it was malfunctioning coolant sensor, like here: https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=25000&p=561791
