I noticed that sometime, when I reverse and break, it makes a grinding sound like metal to metal. Break pads appears fine and the sound goes away once I drive the vehicle. It does not make the same sound when driving forward. Anyone else have this issue?

If you are talking about backing out of your own driveway after the car has not been driven for a day or two - yes, everybody in any car with disc brakes (EV or not) has that experience. Surface rust forms on the discs and is scrubbed off, the first time you apply the brakes.

This is especially true if you park outside on a windy, rainy day, and even more so if your wheels have large openings which allow rain to reach the rotors easily. Living in the NW, I have seen impressive amounts of rust form during a single 8 hour work day.
