mouse in fan

For the second time a mouse has been whacked by the heater/AC fan. Both times it has made the fan noisy, and in a couple of days comes the smell. I've found it easier to take out the glove box to access the fan and cabin filter. At first glance there is no way for a mouse to get through the plastic grill under the windshield, but if you pull out the access panel at each end of the grill, you will see holes going out into the wheel wells. The hole on the passenger side is about finger-size, so doubt that a mouse could get through, but the hole on the driver side is about 2x2 inches. I plugged both holes with aluminum cutouts and duct tape. Hope this solves my problem and your potential one.
