Hi everyone. I bought a used 2013 Leaf SL 3 weeks ago, and had no troubles for the first week. A day or two into the second week the yellow warning light and exclamation point in car light were on. As it turned off after a re-start, with help from this awesome site, I figured it was due to an interrupted charge. By that weekend, however, it was happening most mornings, and it was not at the scheduled 80%. Now it seems to be every day. It reaches anywhere from 56% to 93% (when charging to 100%) and sometimes restarts its charge, and other nights it doesn't. I'm using a JuiceBox 40 classic, so the lack of lights/read outs is unhelpful. The website said that certain versions of the JuiceBox would emit an audible beep/error code so I sat in my garage today while it charged to listen. It stopped at 91% and the only sound I heard was the (I assume) fan which "reved" three times, the EVSE clicked once, and the normal car-stopping-charging sounds.

I'm at a complete loss. The car, of course, is out of its full warranty, and I don't even know if it's the car, or the JuiceBox. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It wouldn't be completely conclusive, but you could try charging from some other L2 station - either at a friend's, or a public one somewhere. If it goes uneventfully, it might throw suspicion on your EVSE.

I would try the supplied L1 (120 volt) EVSE.

It is also possible that you need a PDM firmware update. See my comments at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=399883#p399883 and my own experience at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=329929#p329929.

I originally needed NTB13-069: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=332190#p332190. Now there's NTB13-098. EV system warranty is 5 years/60K miles and does cover the on-board charger and the L1 EVSE (aka "trickle charge cable").

Yup, I've got the L1 cable hooked up tonight, so we'll see how that goes, and I was thinking of trying the L2 at Nissan tomorrow.
