 my car got hit on front & right fender rims are scratched wheels look ok but fender went in car is drivable. cars alignment is off, now should I be worried if the electric motor got shook up? or this can be just missed aligned??? do I take it to a leaf specialist? progressive insurance wants me to take my car to their shop.

Ask the insurance company if their proposed shop is certified to make repairs in accordance with Nissan warranty and crash worthiness requirements. Also, make sure they use factory original parts. Nissan's web site has some information about crash damage repairs and questions to ask the shop. It is not likely that the power train is damaged (except possibly the axle shaft on that side) unless the damage is really severe. Make sure they either remove the traction battery or keep the paint booth temperature below 120 degrees F.

Good luck,
Gerry

No doubt they do, but you should be able to specify that the mechanical repairs be done by a dealer. For a LEAF under warranty, especially a lease, I wouldn't let anyone else do that work. That way, you just take the car back there for future problems and it's either a Nissan warranty issue, or the dealer/insurance company is on the hook for repairs.

+1 to this comment. I would ONLY take my Leaf (and I did for a parking lot ding) to the Nissan dealer I got the car from. Once my lease is up I do not want to be held responsible for any damage related to the repairs, or lack thereof.
