Is anyone else experiencing (or more importantly has fixed) sporadic steering wheel heat?

I get in my 2015 Model S, start driving, turn on the steering wheel heat. Gets warm (sometimes uncomfortably hot) within a minute or two. 5-20 minutes later the heat 'collapses' (I can't tell if it is all the way off or barely warm). Next day the same.

Any ideas?

Too many topics on this. Short answer: turn it off when it gets warm enough, then on and off as needed. If allowed to cycle it gets too hot then stays off too long.

The best suggestion I've seen is to put a PWM circuit on the ground leg but I don't recall actually seeing it implemented.

^ This. Took me 3 years to figure it out.
