Hello,
I drove into a pot hole.... Results, Nissan told me that I need to replace the front right original steel wheel (the back should be fine they said) and my two new right tires grrrr nobody knows where to get a cheap steel wheel and two ecopia tires?
The steel wheel is a little bid crooked, do you think this can this be fixed or do you think it is mandatory to replace it ?
Also, do you know which other Nissan cars use the same rims (same tire size and bolt pattern). I want to see if I can find one on ebay?
Thanks !

Here in pothole city ... unfortunately, this isn't a rare occurrence here in Chicago, but if it happened on one of the streets they're responsible for you can actually submit a claim for the repair and maybe, just maybe have the city pick up the tab so I would first check that option where you live.

In any case, some types of wheels can indeed be fixed (we have a number of wheel shops here) -- a reconditioned aluminum wheel runs about $125/each to re-true and paint it, but depends on how bad it is --- still much cheaper than buying a brand new aluminum wheel but still hurts.

I checked on tire rack and they'll sell you a replacement steel wheel (assumes a 16X6.5 size) for $60 a piece which would probably be your best bet --- you'll need to have your tire shop swap your TPMS and you could probably get an OEM tire from them as well. My son has a friend that has blown through 5 tires/rims in about 6 months (at $1,000 each time) so consider yourself a bit lucky its only steel wheels ...

Thanks ! I would love to be able to buy them on Tire Rack at $60 but they are sold out :(
Do you know another place where I can find them?
thanks

do you think this would work?

Can you see any actual damage to the tire itself? If not you could hold off a bit and see before buying new tires. The wheels are not to expensive, I bought two here from someone who had them as takeoffs ($50 each) and two on ebay ($90 each) for my 4 snow tires. The steel part number is 62607 In a quick search I didn't see any on ebay. What does the dealer charge for a steel wheel?

not really but the dealership said that there are a little bit bumpy on the side. Therefore I should change them. Nissan charges $200 each :(

what do you think these at $66 plus freight

The description looks right but the part number is different, maybe its their stock number? But that is a good price if they really have them.

Discount Tire shows them as in stock for $67 (at many locations, just check by using your zip)

You might get through the season on the rear one, but the front one looks marginal at best. What will typically happen if the tire didn't break the 'bead' (or seal) around the rim is that it may start to bubble (as some cords in the tire may be broken from the impact) and wobble and throw your alignment off, etc. and eventually just blow out --- not good!

That's great, happy to help; keep us all posted if this works out for you as others may benefit as well

DW hit a curb and we had to replace the wheel. Nissan dealer wanted $285 for the wheel and something like $140 for the tire. They had a sign saying they matched prices. So I called Discount Tire and it would be something like $175 for tire and wheel installed. Turns out the dealer won't match those prices because they are "below their cost". Unfortunately, it also turns out that the Discount Tire wheel, while having the benefit of being only $65, doesn't fit the Nissan hubcap.

so where did you buy your steel wheel if the discount tire one does not work?? What does not work, is it the plastic RIM you are talking about?

Whatever you end up doing, make sure they move the tire pressure sensor from the old wheel to the new one, those are over $100 a pop and have to be programmed to the car is you get a new one.

Hello i did not post sorry for that but my solution can help some others.
I actually bought two wheels from discount tire at $55 dollars each and they work perfectly. The store examined my tires and they were fine so I did no replace them, my car run smoothly without any issue at a much better price vs nissan!
