I'm pretty sure that for all model years, the S trim has only the resistance heater.

The S and SV have the power-sapping resistance heater unless the car has the optional Cold Weather Package.

What about S with cold-weather package? I thought that just added seat heaters, etc but not the heat-pump heat system.

The S with the cold weather package used to include the Heat Pump. But thanks to some of you that brought this to my attention, it appears that the option contents have been changed and no longer includes the Heat Pump.

I'm pretty sure that means no heat pump in the S, no matter the option package.
You are correct. Hopefully OE will edit his post and correct his mistake.
