Range Extending App - Leaf Trip Planner

Hi ya'll - After nearly running out of charge on a 70 mile Google Maps "avoid highways" route (when the GOM showed over 100 miles range) a few years ago, I became inspired to create an app that finds driving routes for the Leaf that use the least amount of battery energy.

Does it gather elevation info? Because Google Maps will already plot a route that avoids freeways.

That's right, the app uses several variables to calculate the battery % required for each route. Elevation and driving speed are included in the calculation.

Before I started using the Leaf Trip Planner app, I used to use Google's "avoid highways" feature. However, I couldn't find a way to see speed limits for each route and it still routed me on a road where the speed limit was 65 MPH which destroyed my range when I was trying to make a longer trip.

If you can get it perfected then it should be popular with drivers of sub-100 mile EVs.
