2018 Leaf SL TPMS sensors?

Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:23 am

Hi!

Winter is coming here in Canada and I'll soon have to put winter tires on my wife's 2018 SL. I'm trying to find the information about which sensor I should buy but I'm at a loss.

I called the dealership and the part number they're giving me can't be found anywhere. When I look around I get a part number that is not referenced anywhere for Nissan Leafs and when I go on eBay and the likes, I get a different part number than the other two options...

Does anyone have definitive information as to what sensors I should get for a 2018 leaf?

All I can say is the older Leaf's used 315 mhz TPMS. I would imaging they wouldn't change that as all the Nissian's I know of use 315 as well. But I can't say for certain they didn't change them.

I guess I would have the dealer do the job and hold them responsible for getting the right fitting part.

I am in the same boat; looking for a winter set up. I have been looking around and I think the 2018 Leaf uses 433 MHz. I came across this cloning TPMS from Autel (https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product). I am just waiting on their confirmation to make sure that it will work on 2018 Leaf.

If your looking at Autel I would go with a TPMS that can do either 315 or 433

I have them (with the pad) and this worked on our Honda Odyssey Van for snows and I am going to try this with our 2013 Leaf shortly for the snows

So I got a response from Autel, but not sure if it really helps.
"Good day. Well, we do have TPMS tool for Nissan Leaf, but i am sorry our device can not support it at 2018 Year. More details, you can confirm on Autel Official website below."

In checking on Autel website, they listed US Nissan Leaf 01/2013-12/2018 uses 315MHz and US Nissan Leaf 01/2018-12/2018 uses 433MHz, so I cannot make out which frequency is the correct one for my 2018 Leaf. I got the car in April, 2018. It's probably best to get the TPMS with dual frequency as suggested by one of the members. However, I would appreciated if anyone had tried the Autel MaxiTPMS Pad programmer and confirm that it works on 2018 Leaf before I order one.

Will have them installed in a few days. I'll let you know if there are any problems!

Can these be cloned? Did you install them yet?

The 2018 uses 433mhz sensors, according to tire rack. I hope so, as I'm about to order those with my new snow tires. Now, can anyone confirm to me that 17" Juke wheels will indeed fit a 2018 SL with 17" wheels?

FYI the Autel pad with the newest software has three choices for a Nissan Leaf,

2011/01 - 2012/12
2013/01 - 2018/12
2018/01 - 2018/12

I am guessing maybe the "S" is using the 315 sensors and maybe the SV & SL are using 433's? But you would think one of those two should work.
