hi fellow leafers,

how many of us think that it is a good idea for public DCFC chargers to raise fee steeply after 30minutes of charging?

(i wanted to suggest a parking jail mechanism, that consider "charging" when parking on the spot, and no pay, no car back......but it is too far fetch...)

I think the DCQC providers should simply stop the charging when the charging rate drops below a certain threshold (i.e. 20 kW). However, that only works if they also provide an L2 EVSE next to the DCQC so that people can top up to 100% if they need to, without hogging the DCQC.

unless it hurts pocket when hogging the plug . . .
some people just does not care if charging is stopped or not, and keep car plugged in. . .
(of course, another way is to have charging spots located where we do not want to park our beloved car longer than necessary . . . . )

One a$$ hole Leaf driver recently parked in the DCQC spot and he/she didn't even charge the Leaf, they just wanted a handy parking spot.

Luckily, I have a variety of preprinted notes to leave on the windshield, with varying degrees of shaming and nastiness. Needless to say, I left that driver a particularly nasty one. Likely was ignored by the jerk, but it made me feel better :p

I have no hesitation to unplug someone from a DCQC if they are already fully charged, but sometimes the adjacent spot isn't available or the cable won't reach. Frustrating...

ChaDeMo protocol stops after 60 minutes no matter what.
Some DC stations also stop when current goes too low.

DC stations are not for topping to the max.
Anything slower than 5kW deserves disconnection.
I know that some might argue that "I paid for the service therefore
I have to get it". But it is FAST charging station. If vehicle is not capable
to charge fast (10% of stations max power) it is not complying to requirements.

30min limit is a big nono. DC stations are not for Leaf's only.

EV-holes are rare. Though if that happens I call service provider or
municipal service (if not available, then police). Those can immediately
call vehicles owner and ask to leave immediately (with license plate nr).
Last week I contacted police due to ICEhole. They helped.
Depending on region ICEing might be solved by new parking zones.
All non-plug-in vehicle are not allowed to park on green spots. Exactly
as non handicapped are not allowed to park on blue spots. Standard fine
for disobeying would be fine. But this is a dream for now.

ChaDeMo stations are usually designed so there is two spots per plug.
I take the second place and then check for plug availability. If it is available
I take it to my vehicle and close the lid of other vehicle. This is common
culture here. If it is unavailable I wait or take another DC station.
This is not America. We are allowed to touch other vehicles (with good intent).
Can't get sued for that one
