My leaf is in the body shop right now after a collision. Is there any special treatment for an electric car that I need to be sure the shop is aware of?

My concern is that once they repaint over the damaged panels, they'll put the whole car in the oven to dry, battery and all.

Is that a rational concern? Anything else to be aware of?

Battery cannot be put into the oven. The battery must be removed, or the individual panels baked and then installed on the car. Otherwise, if the battery is at 140F for over 24 hours, it will invalidate the warranty, and likely cause battery degradation. Do not let them do that.

Yeah, I just called and confirmed with them. They were going to bake the whole car, but agreed not to do it after I told them it would damage the battery.
