This comes up often for those looking to lease a LEAF and in discussions of battery degradation. It might be interesting to see a histogram of how far we LEAF drivers go each year.

If you only know how many kilometers you put on your LEAF each year, please multiply that by 5/8 and put that in. ;)

If you do not own a LEAF, please do not answer the poll. (I wanted to get an even distribution and ran out of options.)

(If your have more than one LEAF, simply pick one of them for your response.)

I've had the car exactly 2 months, just a bit under 1600 miles, annualized it becomes 9600, which is higher than I usually have driven in the past few years

While the histogram will not show it, I think your experience closely matches that of most LEAF owners: In spite of the limited range, we tend to drive the our LEAF farther in a year than we did our previous car.

Let's see if others agree...

WARNING-- OFF TOPIC MESSAGE AHEAD --

tell me about your solar array, I had a salesman here trying to sell me a solar pool heater and hot water heating system, he wasn't very interested in selling me a system to power the house

I answered 15,001- because that's the rate the miles were accumulating at until recently. We have since reduced the use of the LEAF in order to avoid a penalty when turning it in next January at the end of the 3 year lease (which includes 15k/yr).

Maybe you should have had 10000-12000 instead of 10000-12500 because a lot of leases are 12K miles. So my answer isn't listed. It would be somewhere between 9000 and 12000.

I hope to squeak just under 15000, but with the extra driving I've been doing (because the car is fun to drive) think it will be hard. Really hard to think of paying extra at the end of the lease.

I have driven 6,000 miles in 10 months which is a lot less than I was driving my Town and Country van (12,000 miles per year). I retired and even though I love driving my LEAF I am just not covering the same distance. The $$$$ savings have been fantastic!

I'm averaging around 1,650 miles a month. I should be in the 20k mile zone, annually. That alone was a very big factor of why I bought a low mileage pre-owned instead of a lease.
