currently have 2015 S with modified oem EVSE to charge at L2 on 240V.

will this charger work on new 2018-19 leaf so I don't have to get extra charge package to have L2 charging again?

Any J-1772 L-1 or L-2 charging station or portable EVSE should work with any J-1772 enabled EV. There are occasional exceptions, but they are malfunctions. The J-1772 charging plug/port standard was designed to be universal.

The Leaf matches the 240V current. That is to say an encased Leaf will charge at 27.5A at 240V or 120V. The car really does not care. This is in vilotoin of the J1772 spec.tI is J1772 compliant and it will respect an EVSE. That is that it will charge at 12A from any L1 EVSE. The EVSE tells the car that 12A is available and the car sets itself to that current. Any EVSE will work including the one included with my IoniQ

I do not use L1 EVSE's. In the unlikely event I need to use an L1 EVSE my OpenEVSE can be set to higher current than 12A. So far it is unused. but it gives me warm fuzzy feelings having it along.
