Tell me, what needs to be remake in charging (version) 2 from the US, so that it works in the European network 220v? What elements need to be changed? Do you need to reprogram it or not?
Can not attach an image, how is it done?

I think all you need is a Mennekes Type 2 cable to J1772 cable. See http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=489815#p489815.

Leafs in the US have a J1772 inlet. We don't have Mennekes Type 2 here. From my reply and response that followed, European ones have J1772 inlet, as well, despite it not being the type found on public EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) aka charging stations.

You should also be able to get EVSEs that are hardwired or whatever plug you use w/a J1772 handle/connector to plug into the Leaf.

I have an American Leaf, and the charger is also American. It is designed for 120V, and we have 220-240v! As far as I know, it can stop working.
How to attach a photo of my charger, here in the subject, tell me.

Why are 3 contacts (circled in red)?

Oh... you're trying to get the 120 volt EVSE to not get destroyed by feeding it to 220 to 240 volts. http://evseupgrade.com/ professionally upgrades them. Please see http://evseupgrade.com/?main_page=faq_info&fcPath=4&faqs_id=3. The guy who runs it goes by Ingineer here.

However, some other folks have more recently come up w/some modifications the purportedly work and are cheaper. Some were dangerous and violate J1772 safety protocols. Others, I'm not sure.

See http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16948&hilit=instructables&start=40 followed by the response at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16948&hilit=instructables&start=50. I haven't followed that thread since I have no interest. I'd suggest you read that thread from beginning to end: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16948&hilit=instructables.

Personally, If I were interested in such functionality, I'd send my EVSE to http://evseupgrade.com/. Unfortunately, the resulting plug may not be right for you country: http://evseupgrade.com/?main_page=index&cPath=7.

I also haven't really followed those threads as I've already had my EVSE upgraded by EVSEupgrade.com. I believe the cheapest DIY option would not work as it uses the fact that our 240v is actually 2 120v(to ground) circuits so it uses one of those 120v circuits to power the 120v transformer inside the EVSE and only feeds the second 120v circuit to the contactor, where it then goes into the car for 240v operation. This would not work in European 220v as AFAIK they just have one hot leg, and it's 220v to ground. I believe the other DIY upgrade uses a small 240 to 120v transformer to power the 120v transformer inside the EVSE and again feeds the 240v directly to the car. AFAIK this second method should work in Europe with their 220v single leg hot, but the OP should do more research.
Looks like cwerdna might have given you this link but I believe this might be the one that would work for you...

Thank you, I will read your references. :)
I know that this is wrong! I want to remake, as expected.
At us many alter so. Change the plug, the European one. Disable the temperature sensor and ground. And solder the capacitor to 10mF_400v. :(

I want to remake this unit myself.
How and how to read firmware from this unit? What programmer?

From the man himself:

Frankly, I think you're better off just buying a proper EVSE for the voltage in your country instead of repeating the type of effort Ingineer went thru, unless you always intend to run a business like him.

Thank you, interesting topic.
I have a lot of American Leaf, and at all I need to remodel the chargers.

I will try to find a "common language" with Phil (Engineer). If I had one car, I would buy a ready-made charger - I have a lot of American-made Leafs, I need to change them all (adapt to our 240V network) myself! I will understand this question, I hope for your help.
:)
