Just wondering if there is a "best practice" people have found for securing the L1 cable. Currently I have to plug it in to an outdoor outlet, and there is no way that I've found to actually secure it or lock it so no one can just walk up and take the entire thing.

Thanks!

Every LEAF since 2013 has had a charge connector lock switch. It's a three position rocker switch on the lower left part of the dash. The three positions are off, lock, and auto. When locked, the charge connector cannot be removed from the car. When in the auto position, it will automatically unlock when fully charged. This position is suggested for public charging stations. To secure your trickle charger, just engage the switch in the lock position. Hope that helps.

I think some just use a padlock around the cable and locked to the car at the charging port latch.

It's as simple as this.
