Yesterday I visited a Nissan quick charge station for the first time in my MY13. I noticed that charging maxed out at only 42 kw out of a theoretical Chaedmo maximum of 62.5 kw. I began charging at 8% SOC and took a couple of data points along the way.

At 17% SOC - 105 amp, 381 volts = 40 kw
At 40% SOC - 105 amp, 391 volts = 41 kw
At 50% SOC - 107 amp, 395 volts = 42 kw

Charging session ended at 55% so I didn't observe the taper point. Other observations: Chaedmo connector is HUGE and bulky. For comparison the Tesla supercharger connector is about 1/4 the size and it is capable of carrying twice the electrical load or 120 kw.

Is this along the lines of what others have experienced?

I believe the Nissan branded Sumitomo CHAdeMO DC chargers that are typically at a Nissan dealer are only rated for 44kW max.

The LEAF will only pull 47.4kW max (395 volts * 120 amps), and this will only occur below 50% SOC.

The CHAdeMO protocol is specified for 125 amps * 500 volts (62.5kW).

The CHAdeMO protocol is designed for 200 amps * 500 volts (100kW).

Telsa plug is 400 volts at 300 amps (120kW)

Frankenplug is 450 volts at 200 amps (90kW)
