I am pleased to read of Nissan's plans to bring self driving cars to market. The technology is coming fast, and once the insurance companies learn how much safer they will be than human-driven cars, they'll drop the rates for the "robot cars". The benefits are vast and will be so compelling that most folks will opt for the "I-Robot Taxi" rather than own and maintain their own car.

Paul, sorry I both missed your talk, and meeting you at the Google EV Summit Saturday.

I got there late, left early (I had to make the 160+ miles to Clear lake that PM) and spent most of my time there on test drives and fueling-up on the BBQ.

IMO, the synergy between self-driving and self-fueling will probably combine to deliver the headshot that finally takes out our zombie ICEV infrastructure.
