Around here there are 6 or 7 Nissan dealers within reasonable proximity that are Leaf certified.

Trouble is, they all have ratings in the toilet. I emailed one dealer twice before getting a (very late) response. I want to avoid the usual sales BS, MSRP mark-ups and such... and hopefully find a place with a decent service department. But right now it looks like I may as well throw a dart.

Anyone have any strategies or suggestions?

I prefer to deal with the "internet" sales folks since that worked really well with my last car purchase (a Subaru). IMO, those guys tend to avoid the BS and pressure because they know they're dealing with a more savvy consumer. But if they won't respond to email, that's not good.

I have 4 Leaf dealerships around me and one has stated he will sell the car at MSRP. I will see who is willing to discount from sticker to get the sell when I need to pick the dealer, I picked the dealer who said he will sell it at MSRP for now.

I suspect once firm orders are taken this summer, the dealership choice will become permanent. Is that your thinking?

Yes, the way I am looking at it it is money they never would have had until they get some to sell.

Better Business Bureau...check the ratings for the dealership's Service department.
90%+ of your experience with the dealership will be with Service.

Ask your EV Sales Specialist for their Nissan YTD CSI score.

Try Edmunds for at least a start. The replies vary widely, but you might find some reviews worth considering.

Thanks for that direction 1051. Most of the ratings on Google in my area are from

www.dealerrater.com

might want to try there also for a quick listing....

I selected the same dealership where I bought my current car (Lithia of Fresno), I've been to other dealerships - some which are closer - but this one is just above and beyond with their customer service :)

I took out a map of CA and threw a coin on it from far away, I then located the closest dealer to where the coin landed and selected them, it is an easy process with little effort. If the dealer turns out to pull a fast one and charge over MSRP I will lock the sales manager in the customer lounge and water board them with their coffee. I got my last car for $1873 under invoice and a free protection package. Your results may vary:)

my choice; simple. i live in Olympia, WA, i select the dealer here in Olympia. i can go by other people's opinion of the service they received, or i can make my own judgments. i have worked in customer service long enough to know that many many factors go into a persons opinion of the service they have received and MOST of is not the quality of the information or the service .

as far as price goes, it is at MSRP or its not. that is cut and dried.

My local dealer took me with him to the test drive of the Leaf test vehicle. He was very enthusiastic and seemed well informed. He is certainly going to be my choice. His name is Robert Gortarez at Avondale Nissan in Avondale, Arizona.
