Has Nissan offered you to trade in your Gen 1 for a Gen 2?

Sun Apr 01, 2018 6:00 pm

Hi, We are aware of the poor depreciation value of Leafs. With that being said has anyone been offered for a Nissan dealership for you to come in and trade your Gen 1 to get a Gen2?

Sure, if by "gen 2" you mean "Any of the new Nissans on our lot!"

They send out regular scam-ish offers to give you "up to" the top dollar amount (or more!) for your vehicle. Even if it's leased.

So, Can you trade in and get the 2 year free charge again and get the $7500 tax credit again?

Whether you trade in or not does not effect charge card or tax credit - it's a new sale. Don't expect anything generous if you trade in.

Yes, I get lots of offers. I say absolutely if...."you pay me $15,000 for my 2011 Leaf and get me a zero down $200/mo lease on the 2018" That usually elicits a smile, since they know they haven't got a chance.
