My 18' Leaf is expected to arrive on Jan 16th , 2018.
Are there any numbers available on the rebates/incentives being offered ?
What kind of Lease offers besides the one below might be out there for first time Leaser's? I've heard all the nightmares of
bumping up fees and including erroneous options (see etching lawsuit NY) . Hoping this won't happen to me.

I would think that will be a big event showing the first 2018 MY delivery. I did not see that anywhere on the news or on the Internet.

The Leaf marketing emails I received in mid-December 2017 had the subject "Enjoy savings starting 1/23/18 on the 2018 Nissan LEAF". The offers are for 0% financing or example lease prices.

If 1/16/18 is a bust, I'd imagine we'd hear something on 1/23/18.

Or 1/30
Or 2/6
...

How late can Nissan be with this car? They are the ones touting how far ahead of the competition they are because of their years of experience. The launch of the 2018 Leaf is not a great display of their competence.

Meanwhile, GM announced the launch/roll out schedule of thee Bolt 6 months ahead of time, and nailed the execution.

I won't even go into Tesla's Model 3 roll out (which was originally scheduled for early 2016, let's remember. That's deliveries, not just the elaborate reveal / reservation opening that we had).

2018 Leaf has been shipping in Japan since Oct 2017.

To be fair, I don't think we've heard any official date from Nissan.

The press releases just say early 2018. Examples below:
http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/overview-2018-nissan-leaf
http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/2018-nissan-leaf-makes-north-american-debut
http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/the-all-new-2018-nissan-leaf-raising-the-bar-for-electric-vehicles

Some of these might be archived at http://archive.org/web/, so one can see if Nissan's made changes...

No, nothing official that I know of. So the car is not late by Nissan's measure. However, compared to the competition, it is late.

In the end, it won't really matter much a year from now. Whoever has the car that best fits the market will be the leader. But there is room for all three (and more, when others are ready to compete).

They have been doing test drives here in San Diego, CA area. Last day planned is Feb 4.

We had a Product Specialist come to our local EVAoSD mtg. He gave two of our members test drives before the meeting, then gave a nice presentations with Q & A.

Sounded like we could expect the 2018 Leaf at local dealers here in the next couple weeks.

For the US market, yes, if you're comparing to Bolt. For outside the US, maybe not late or not so late?

I don't know what the status of the Opel Ampera e is (Opel version of the Bolt) but GM sold off Opel to PSA (https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/general-motors/2017/08/01/gm-sale-european-division-psa-groupe/528166001/?from=new-cookie) recently. And, from what I understand, there is no right-hand drive version of the Bolt, so that'd make it n/a in the UK (would need to be Vauxhall), Japan, and other RHD countries. Not surprisingly, https://electrek.co/2017/11/06/chevy-bolt-ev-ampera-e-price-increase-europe/ mentions Opel has to buy Ampera e's from GM.

I took a quick look at https://cleantechnica.com/2017/10/31/tesla-1-3-near-record-month-europe-electric-car-sales/ and don't see any Opels there. Foreign to Japan vehicles seem to have a TINY market share in Japan. So, perhaps the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi group feels they have a comfortable position? Or, they're just resting on their laurels (right or wrong)?

I ordered my car back in September when reservations were started. I'm in Socal. Dealer said on Jan 2, the car was supposed to have arrived on 1/20 . The car still hasn't arrived and the dealer doesn't know why it's in perpetual "in transit" since they said no car has ever been in that status for that long. According to Nissan corporate, it might not arrive yet for another two weeks but they won't say why.

Some early production Bolts were pulled from post production prep for quality control checks and/or repairs. You Leaf may have suffered a similar issue and never actually got shipped. This is why I don't want an early build "Leaf Too."

Got the e-mail saying it is now for sale. I followed the link, made my selections and submitted to my dealer to get an internet quote. I appreciate the $1k loyalty discount and the 0% offer. I hope the dealer doesn't try to stick a bunch of upcharges on it. I will let you know once I get a response. I will also see what they propose in terms of a lease. I might go that route this time.

I kind of like to think that is why they have a batch of these running around giving people test drives. That makes for a fairly decent final beta test.

That would mean that all of them were delayed since the Dealer has 12 on order and none have arrived. Same with all dealers in the region.

I told them that they can sell it to someone else if I don’t get it by this weekend. I’ll get something else from a different manufacturer.
