Got an email from them today that said this:

Constellation is launching its EZ-EV program, an exclusive membership program for EV buyers and owners. Visit our website for one-stop access to exclusive discounts and all the information you need to know to "go electric" as well as EV items essential to making your life better once you have an electric vehicle.

But that's not all: We've collaborated with Nissan to offer our customers $10K in savings on a new 2016 or 2017 Nissan LEAF!

You read that right, $10,000. Nearly a third off the MSRP, and that's before federal and state incentives.

To take advantage of this offer, all you need to do is register for EZ-EV through this website and be an Constellation electric supply customer. Then you take a copy of your electric bill to your nearest Nissan dealer to get $10k off your new Nissan LEAF.

Did anyone else get this too?

Thanks for this info. I managed to get a new 2017 SV for $11.7k off MSRP using this program and the NY state rebate program.

For anyone else that is interested, the EZ-EV program appears (from that website) to be only valid in and around Baltmore and Chicago, but it is actually available from any Nissan dealer anywhere in the US to any Constellation Energy customer. It expires Mar 31st so move quick if you want to use this deal. If you have any difficult convincing the dealer, ask him/her to contact Jean Gough from Nissan corporate. Her contact info is on the flyer that you can find online (google "ez-ev leaf", it's the pdf that shows up as the second result).

Happy to hear the $10,000 LEAF discount offer through Constellation Energy is now available through June 30. Looking forward to making my LEAF purchase this week.

Can someone confirm that this open to anyone that switches to Constellation as their electricity supplier? Seems to easy to be true.

For example, I am in Ohio and AEP owns the electric lines but I can purchase by electricity from many different suppliers. http://www.energychoice.ohio.gov

If I just switch to Constellation as my supplier can I get this discount?

Yes, it is valid for new accounts too. You either need an email from them confirming that you are a customer, or wait for the first bill that lists their name. Keep in mind that you may need to enter into a contract with Constellation.

For those who used this promotion, did the $10k come off the price before sales taxes were assessed? My utility in Minnesota is still offering the $10k promo, but I haven't seen sales tax mentioned, and don't have much confidence in the Nissan dealer's salespeople. They were confusing "tax credits" with "rebates," and were claiming all Leaf S made since 2013 had heat-pump.

FYI, I did _not_ pay sales taxes on the $10k discount!

My receipt is:
- MSRP 2017 Leaf S: $30,680 + $864 dealer hold-back
+ quick-charge/6.6kw package after negotiation: $75
= total price: $31,619
- $10,000 Xcel Energy discount
= taxable price 21,619
MN motor vehicle 6.5% tax: $1405.24

I will get the $7500 tax credit, and of course, I did pay motor vehicle sales taxes on that; plus the cost of capital to float the $7500 until February, so the effective Fed credit is about $6930 for me. That makes the effective purchase price-equivalent to a $14.7k normal car purchase.
