Doubt it. http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/30D-New-Qualified-Plug-in-Electric-Drive-Motor-Vehicles-Nissan-North-America" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; includes the 2014, but I suspect it and the page you pointed you will be updated to reflect 2015.

BTW, I really suggest you answer the questions I asked at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=385091#p385091" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. We have no idea of your knowledge level about the Leaf, your typical use cases and whether your expectations are realistic, esp. given that many folks have been misled by dealers.

I went to this link: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml

And it says only the 2011-13 have the rebate. Is this true?

Just to make sure that you understand, the federal incentive is a tax credit, not a rebate. This tax credit is applied against your Federal tax liability, so the most you can get back from the credit is your total Federal tax liability.

For example, if your Federal tax liability is $7500 or higher, then you'll get back the entire $7500 on your next Tax Return (which is the maximum amount of the credit for the LEAF). If your Federal tax bill is only $3400, then that's all you'll be eligible to get back....And it doesn't carry over to the next year...

The credit is good for each EV manufacturer until they sell 200,000 cars and then it begins to phase out (separately for each manufacturer).

All of the above is correct. I'll add that the listing for cars that are eligible for tax credits is often out of date, and this goes back to the days of the hybrid credits.

Around 55k as of last month.

If you curve fit the monthly sales data and project it out to the future Nissan will sell 200,000 Leafs in the US in 28 months. That data is fit to an exponential which I don't think the Leaf will continue on forever. If the price of gas skyrockets then sales will be higher, if prices go lower or stay the same then motivation to buy decreases. State incentives like Georgia/California help.

As someone else pointed out, the federal benefit is a tax credit, not a rebate, and you only get it if you buy the car and the amount depends on your federal tax liability the year you buy the car. If you lease the vehicle, Nissan passes on the tax credit to you in the form of a reduction in the capitalized cost, so you don't have to worry about whether you'll be able to qualify and you don't have to wait.

However, and I'm just guessing by your forum name, if you are in Texas, you also qualify for a rebate from the state, whether you buy or lease. It's $2500 for a purchase or a 4 year lease, $1875 for a 3 year lease, $1250 for a 2 year lease, and the state sends it directly to you about 6 weeks after you take possession of the car. You have to fill out the paperwork and file for it yourself, but it's not too tedious for the $$ involved. See: http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/airquality/terp/ld.html
